Study Skills Workshops

Open to all students! Each workshop lasts 50 minutes and are free. All workshops for Fall term will be held remotely. Except where noted, repeated workshops contain the same material.

  • Take Control of Your Time! Planning Out Your Quarter

Make a study calendar to balance school, work, and life, and know key dates in the quarter to plan your schedule to complete assignments on time. Please bring your syllabi and class materials.


  • How to Take Useful Notes

Learn how to make connections between your course outcomes and your note-taking to create a system that works for you.


  • Power Up! Using Your Notes to Study

Learn to use notes effectively as a part of your study process through summarizing, daily review, and reviewing notes before class. Please have class notes and course materials available.


  • Textbook Reading - Getting the Most Out of Your Materials

Decode the structure of a textbook, and learn to use it to create study guides and predict test questions to study smarter, not harder.


  • Get Prepped! Test-taking Strategies that Work

Build a test-prep calendar and explore study strategies to up your test-taking game! Check out Tests Postmortem in Week 5 to look at what worked well, and what strategies to adopt in upcoming tests.
