Application and Programming Services is managed by Gabe Williams. The team provides
support for the administrative management information system (Banner). The Banner
modules in use at LBCC are: Students, Student Information System (SIS), Financial
Aid, Human Resources (HR), and Finance. These services are deployed using two servers.
The IS Application and Programming team provides custom programming and user support for all Banner modules.
eLearning includes all forms of electronically supported learning and teaching and provides faculty the flexibility of delivering some, or all coursework to students.
Desktop Computing Services
Managed by Leighana Coe, the Support Services staff are responsible for planning, purchasing, installing, maintaining and supporting campus desktop computers for staff and student labs. This includes shared laser printers, network servers, and building wiring.
Media Services provides LBCC programs with technology instruction and training, classroom media equipment, video production, Internet, multimedia, and video conferencing streaming.
Wide Area Networking (WAN) Services
Data communication and connectivity across our Wide Area Network (WAN) is maintained by Network Administration, managed by Vern Smith. This includes server backups, and upgrades.
Site Licensing and Volume Purchase Agreements
Site Licensing and Volume Purchase contract negotiations are provided by the IS department. Examples include Microsoft Office suite applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc), Faronics Deep Freeze, Lanschool, and more.

The IS department administers and maintains license-tracking records and 'proof of
purchase' for software purchased from Microsoft, Symantec, Faronics, Lanschool --
software purchased through campus Site Licensing or Volume Purchase Agreement contracts.
Individual departments are responsible for tracking their department-specific software licenses, such as those for PhotoShop, Quicken, or AutoCAD. Please be sure to keep all licensing information and software in a secure place.
Staff and Students at LBCC use "Google Apps for Education" email. Staff email addresses
end with '@linnbenton.edu' while Student email addresses end with '@mail.linnbenton.edu'. Staff and Student Google Apps accounts are administered and supported
by the IS department. Access to LBCC e-mail, and other LBCC Google Apps for Education,
is available 24/7 from any internet-connected device.
Staff can get help with LBCC Google Apps e-mail by calling the college Help Desk, by viewing topics on the LBCC Google Apps Training Site, or by clicking 'Help" from the Google Apps "Settings" wheel.
Students can call the Student Help Desk at (541) 917-4630 (before 4pm), or ask any librarian at the LBCC Library Circulation counter.
E-mail IDs and Logins
These are usually setup during the hiring process by filling out and signing a Log On Request Form. Call your department secretary if you have not been asked to sign this form yet.
Computer and Server Virus Checking
The Cyber-Security services provided by the IS department keep LBCC servers and desktop computers malware-free. Anti-virus software installation, file scanning, and virus definition downloading have all been automated to provide instant response to cyber-security threats. Want to know more? Telecommunication Services provides support for all telephone equipment, long distance access, voice mail and fax connections. Training is available for using phone and voice-mail features.
The IS department also updates the Staff and Faculty Directory.
