Admissions Application Checklist includes the following:

  • Online International Application for Admissions (select "International Application")
  • $100 non-refundable, one-time application fee
  • Official documentation of English Language Proficiency (see below for details)
  • LBCC ESL Reading Placement Tests (with an average score of 95 or better)
  • Current bank statement (less than 90 days old) showing proof of $24,623 funding
  • Affidavit of Financial Support if bank statement is not in applicant's name
  • If under 18 years-of-age: on first day of class, an official high school transcript
  • Passport (copy of photo page)

Transfer Students:

  • All documents listed above as well as the following:
  • Visa (copy of photo page)
  • Current I-94 Receipt
  • Current I-20 (copy)

NOTE: Once you are admitted as a student to LBCC, you must complete math and writing placement tests PRIOR to receiving an I-20 from LBCC.

English Proficiency Requirements:

  • TOEFL: 500 on paper-based or 61 on the internet-based TOEFL
    • There are local TOEFL testing centers available at ELCI (LBCC Albany Campus) or OSU.
    • To schedule a TOEFL exam at ELCI, email .
  • IELTS: 5.5 or above
  • US High School Diploma/GED: Submit official transcript or document
  • US College Official Transcript: Must have a minimum of 24 quarter credits or 16 semester credits with "C" or above. Credits should include classes in reading, writing, and math. English language learner courses will not be counted towards this requirement.
