Dear Friends,

As many of you already know, I am not one to sit still. So, as I think about my last year as LBCC’s President, I cannot help but think about all the things I need to get done before I leave. My To-Do list is long…and there’s one really important item on it with which I need your help. Anyone who has been a part of the LBCC community for very long knows that it is a very special place. Together as a community of teachers and learners, we are committed to a uniquely powerful and personal Mission: “to enable all of us to participate in, contribute to, and benefit from the cultural richness and economic vitality of our communities.” But making this true for “all of us” is something we must constantly strive to achieve, as too many of our students struggle with basic needs like housing and childcare, not to mention the costs of college. For first-generation, lowincome and students of color, college is often completely out of reach and, when we fail to empower students with the higher education they need to succeed, our whole community suffers.

I want to ensure the pathway to success is broad enough to include every single student. This is why the item at the top of my To-Do list is to involve at least 1,000 donors this year in supporting student success for all. Can I count on you to help me meet that goal?

Please join me in supporting the students of LBCC with a gift of any size. Together we can ensure that we widen the road to student success so that everyone – students. and supporters alike – can call themselves “Roadrunners” and be a part of contributing to the cultural richness and economic vitality of our community.

Sincerely,
