Meet the Executive Committee, your Leadership Team for the 2017/2018 Academic Year
President: Miranda Dudzik, PTFApresidentLBCC@gmail.com
Bio: Miranda has been teaching biology at LBCC since 2008, has been heavily involved in LB iLearn, writing several courses and mentoring faculty on best practices in online curriculum development. She also has been working with the Moodle team for several years, and is currently the LMS Faculty Fellow through the Learning Innovation Center. Miranda first became active in the PTFA during negotiations for our first contract in early 2016 and has since developed a passion for our mission and our members.
Vice President of Membership: Bea Michalik, PTFAmembershipLBCC@gmail.com
The Vice President of Membership is responsible
- for keeping a current list of members,
- for recruiting part-time faculty to take council positions,
- to report information obtained in council meetings,
- as well as sharing objectives with the councilors to represent PTFA during council meetings.
Bio: Bea started teaching mathematics at LBCC in 2010. She feels that her diverse background helps her relate to students from different walks of life. Bea has been involved with PTFA since its beginning and enjoys helping to determine its future. Bea likes to sing, manage websites, play tennis, travel, and spend time with her friends and family.

Vice President of Professional Relations: Diane Hunsaker, PTFArelationsLBCC@gmail.com
The Vice President of Professional Relations acts as an official representative of the Part-Time Faculty Association on any occasion when representation is requested by an association member in invoking their Weingarten rights, report on a regular basis to the Executive Committee on the status of current grievances and issues, and maintain records of the grievances and member concerns to be made available to the Executive Committee as necessary. He or she will be required to have strong understanding of the needs of Part-Time Faculty Association members, and the language of the contract.
Bio: Diane Hunsaker has been at LBCC since 2003. She started teaching in the Adult Basic Education/GED department, then moved to the Math department in 2005. She also works as an instructional assistant providing math help in the Learning Center.
Treasurer: Toni King, PTFAtreasurerLBCC@gmail.com
The treasurer ensures that the PTFA is a good steward of our members’ dues, and provides oversight of fiscal integrity. The treasurer:
- oversees all financial transactions,
- maintains accurate financial records,
- prepares an annual budget which supports the PTFA goals, and meets all state and federal filing requirements.
Bio: Toni has been teaching astronomy and physics at LBCC since 2006, and has served on several committees including Curricular Issues and Faculty Senate. For PTFA, she participated in the initial round of contract negotiations, and became Treasurer in June 2017. Toni likes to camp and hike, and hang out with her husband and three teenage boys.
Secretary: Esther Chapman, PTFAsecretaryLBCC@gmail.com
The Secretary is in charge of document management for the Part-Time Faculty Association and the website. Documents are stored online and the Secretary organizes and maintains files and folders so other executive committee members and Association members at large can find and access what they need. The Secretary is responsible for recording attendance of members, collecting minutes from the college committee representatives, recording minutes of all Association meetings, posting the minutes and making them available to all members, and maintaining operational procedures (printing, mailing, room reservations) as designated by the President. He or she shall be responsible for maintaining the Association webpage.
Bio: Esther has been working in the Learning Center at LBCC since Fall 2009, and has been teaching Math part time since Fall 2010. She has been serving on committees such as Faculty Senate and College Council since 2014 and has been part of the Part Time Faculty Association leadership since before the bargaining agreement was ratified. She enjoys tutoring high school and college students in her off time, as well as cuddling her infant daughter (the PTFA Mascot) and spending time with her husband. Together, they like to travel abroad and take roadtrips in the summer.
