Sleep Technology

Program Fees and Financial Assistance

The fee for the Sleep Technology program is $9,750. This cost includes tuition, books, and supplies.

Additional Costs

Please be aware that in addition to the $9,750 program fee, students are also expected to pay:

  • $60 background check
  • $45 drug test
  • $75 CPR certification
  • Variable fees for immunizations
  • $15 processing fee

The additional costs are for admitted students only and cannot be covered by Financial Aid. In addition, these costs are estimates only, and may be subject to change year to year.

Once you’re accepted into the program, there are three options for how to pay for this program cost:

Option 1: Pay Up Front

You may choose to pay for the full cost of the program up front. Payment is due by the date of program orientation in mid-June.

Option 2: Make Payments

You may also file a payment plan with the Sleep Technology Department. If you file a deferred note contract with the Sleep Technology program, payment is broken down as such:

  • $400 deposit and $15 processing fee must be paid by the program orientation
  • The remaining three payments of $3,125 must be paid by the respective term due dates

The Sleep Technology Department offers the payment plan to all admitted students of the Sleep Technician program if they choose to participate.

Option 3: Apply for Financial Aid

In order to qualify, students must meet regular financial aid criteria. This means that they must:

  • File for FAFSA for the applicable school year
  • Have a high school diploma or GED
  • Be a citizen or an eligible non-citizen
  • Be admitted to LBCC
  • NOT be in default or owe repayment of any grant

In addition, students who wish to pay for the program using financial aid must pay a non-refundable $415 deposit before the program starts. Financial aid cannot be used to pay for this deposit, but this money will eventually come back to students as financial aid distributes.

Limitations, Cancellations and Continuations of Financial Aid

Financial aid pays in one installment per term, with each payment distributed during the second week of term. Continued support from financial aid depends upon passing grades in all classes (C average or better).

If a student chooses to withdraw from the program after its start date, or if the student fails from the program, the student is still responsible for the entire cost of the program.

If students receive money from Financial Aid and then decide to drop out of the program, they may be subject to Title IV return calculation and may need to repay aid.

All financial aid for the Sleep Technology Program is based on passing grades; that is, C averages or better. If a student does not receive passing grades in their classes, then they may lose access to financial aid.

Financial aid cannot be used to pay the $415 program deposit.

The Sleep Technology program is a terminal program; if students receive money from Financial Aid to pay for this program, Financial Aid‘s expectation is that the student will enter the workforce in a relevant field for 2-3 years BEFORE they apply for additional aid.

For example, a student who takes the Sleep Technology must work as a sleep technician for 2-3 years after graduation BEFORE applying for financial aid for the training they plan to take in Medical Assisting. Financial Aid may not award them grants or loans if they apply for the Medical Assisting training before they complete two years working as a sleep technician.
