The Associate of Science (AS) Degree in Chemistry is designed for students planning to transfer to Oregon State University. Students planning to transfer to an institution other than OSU may be best served by pursuing an Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer (AAOT) degree while taking specific mathematics and physical science courses. Students should work with two advisors: one at LBCC and the other at the institution he/she hopes to attend to make sure the courses will transfer into the program.
Students entering the Chemistry program with a strong high school mathematics and science background can expect to complete the program in two years. Students who must take pre-calculus mathematics should expect to spend more than two years completing the program.
