The Horticulture curriculum is based on competencies identified and reviewed by industry representatives and agricultural educators. Students study principles of horticulture, crop science, and soil science with an emphasis on sustainable production and ecologically sound resource management.
The Associate of Science (AS) degree with an emphasis in Horticulture is a lower-division transfer program designed to assist students planning to transfer to Oregon State University. Students completing the degree requirements will be prepared to enroll in upper-division coursework.
The Horticulture program also offers an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Horticulture, as well as a One-Year Certificate in Horticulture. Students should speak with an advisor as soon as possible to make sure that they are on the right track.
