Graduation

Graduation Application Timelines & Ceremony Participation

Due to the governor's Executive Order for Higher Education, which bans in-person activities through June 2020, LBCC's in-person commencement cermonies have been cancelled.

For details and alternate plans, visit our Commencement Ceremony page.

  • Questions and Concerns about Commencement Regalia (Cap and Gown)
As you know, due to the current situation with COVID-19, LBCC will not be holding a physical Commencement for 2020.  However, we realize that some students may still wish to receive the regalia they have already ordered.  Typically such orders would be picked up at the LBCC campus during our Graduation Fair or at the Linn Benton Fairgrounds the night of Commencement.  Due to social gathering restrictions, neither of those options will be available this year.  See the subjects below for more information and answers.

** A special note regarding caps and tassels - LBCC is going to be sending all of our graduates a complementary cap and 2020 Commencement tassel in the near future!
  • Did you order regalia (cap and gown)? Check to see if you got an email from our vendor.

All students who have already placed orders for LBCC Commencement 2020 with Herff Jones should have received an email directly from the vendor regarding these changes and offering to have their items sent directly to a home address.  If you believe you should have received this email already and have not done so yet, please first check the inbox and SPAM folder for the email address you used when placing your order.  The email will have come from Herff Jones.  We have also asked the vendor at this time to resend the email to all recipients, and this 2nd email went out early in the week of May 18.  Again, please check your email inbox and SPAM folders.

  • I didn't get an email. What should I do next?
If you find that you still have not received an email by now, please contact the vendor directly.  The contact information is as follows:

Royal-T (this is the local sales group for Herff Jones)
    Phone #360.254.7870
    Hours: Monday-Friday, 9 to 5 p.m. PST
If you reach voice mail, please leave a message.  Be sure to leave your name, phone number with area code, and tell them you are a student at Linn-Benton Community College.  They are checking voice mail and returning calls quickly.
  • I placed an order and I want the items sent to my address. What do I do next?
Look to see if you have an email already from Herff Jones.  Check your email inbox and your SPAM folder. The email will contain directions for getting your order re-routed.  If you have not received an email from Herff Jones at this time, contact Royal-T Papers directly at 360.254.7870.
  • If I have my order sent to my address, will I be charged shipping or other additional fees?
If you already had your order placed by the original deadline, there will be NO cost to you for shipping to a home address.  If you are just ordering now, there will be a charge.   The cost for shipping a gown is $15.95.  Costs for other items will vary based on the item.
  • If I have my order sent to my address, how soon can I expect to receive it?
The standard shipping time per the vendor is 21 working days; however, many orders are being turned around faster.  The vendor warehouse is having to work under strict social distancing guidelines, so they are doing their best to get orders out as quickly as possible.
  • I placed an order and I want to cancel it. How do I do this? Will I get a refund?
Yes, you can get refunded.  Cancellation directions will be in the email from Herff Jones - please be sure to read the "fine print" at the end.  If you have not received an email with these directions, contact Royal-T Papers at 360.254.7870.
  • I didn't place an order before, but I want to do so now. Can I still do that and, if so, how?
Yes, you can still place an order at this time.  Go to the Herff Jones website:  Herff Jones College Graduation Website  Keep in mind that there will be a shipping and handling cost for orders placed now.
