Your Student Leadership Council (SLC) wants to hear from YOU!  SLC officers have work space and office hours in the Student Union, northeast corner of the courtyard downstairs.  (Look for the blue and white graphics on the windows.)  If you have questions or problems, suggestions for making LBCC a better place, or want to become more involved in campus life, this is a great place to start.

President:
Brian Ixtlahuac

  • Leads ASLBCC Leadership Team (SLC)
  • Facilitates weekly SLC meeting: posts agenda 72 hours prior to each meeting, ensures minutes are entered by the Executive Assistant 48 hours after meeting and schedules all guests with the SLC Advisor
  • Coordinates work of the SLC to prioritize and best serve student interests
  • Directs official business, ensures Bylaws and Constitution are followed and appoints subcommittees as needed
  • Attends Linn-Benton Community College Board Meeting Monthly (if unable to attend, the spot must be filled by a member of SLC 24 hours prior to the meeting)
  • Sits on the Oregon Student Association (OSA) Board of Directors

Executive Assistant:

  • Works with President on the agenda
  • Keeps official minutes of meetings (SLC, Student Judiciary Board, Council of Clubs and Events Task Force)
  • Coordinates SLC Accreditation Binder

Vice President:
Kylie McLoud

  • Chairs SLC meetings in the absence of the SLC President
  • Assists the SLC President with ensuring all SLC actions are in accordance with SLC Constitution and Bylaws
  • Chairs ASLBCC Student Judiciary Board and presents a monthly report to the SLC
  • Schedules monthly SLC team meetings with LBCC President and Vice President
  • Creates and updates the judiciary Board Bylaws with the consent of the Judiciary Board
  • Initiates changes to SLC bylaws and constitution and runs changes through Judiciary Board for approval
  • Primary contact for information and conflict resolution regarding conflicts with administrative rules or college policy.

Finance Director:
Caleb Hedin

  • Monitors all spending and budget of ASLBCC accounts
  • Provides a weekly budget update and monthly report of ASLBCC spending accounts to the SLC
  • Appointed Chair of the Co-Curricular Budget Committee
  • Meets monthly with all subsidiary entities of the SLC (e.g. Coffee Shop Manager, Linn-Benton Lunch Box Coordinator, etc.) and reports back to the SLC
  • Initiates the budget creation and student fee process for the SLC.
  • Sits on any boards pertaining to the college's budgets or fees where a student seat is available.

Community Outreach Director: Marta Nuñez

  • Chairs weekly Events Task Force meetings
  • Tracks appointed tasks of event planners, ensuring that tasks are completed and documented as addressed in the Events Task Force Bylaws
  • Ensures that all event planning forms are completed and turned in to the Executive Assistant for inclusion in accreditation binder
  • Inventories and maintains the Linn-Benton Lunch Box
  • Creates and updates bylaws for Events  Task Force every two years

Legislative Affairs Directors:
Abigail Hardin, Shelby Pick

  • Serves as the LBCC representative to the Oregon Student Association (OSA) on the Board of Directors
  • Serves as the primary advocate for LBCC student needs
  • Runs a student voter registration drive during Spring and Fall Term of even years (2014, 2016, etc.)
  • Leads student lobbying efforts during the Winter and Spring Term of odd years (2015, 2017, etc.)
  • Serves as the primary contact for information regarding Oregon Legislature and the current legislative session
  • Works in conjunction with the SLC Vice President to be a contact for information and conflict resolution regarding conflicts with administrative rules or college policy
  • Creates a term-by-term budget for travel to OSA meetings for all board members
  • Travel at least once per month is required
**OSA is a state board consisting of a student representative from each college member. OSA meets monthly. As the representative from LBCC, the person holding this position is expected to commit to attending one board meeting per month and to prepare for and disseminate information from these meetings. Travel is to be expected.

Benton Center Coordinator:
Makenzie Arrasmith

  • Coordinates Activites and Event Calendars for the Benton Center with Albany Campus
  • Coordinates Study Jam at the Benton Center each term
  • Develops and manages Benton Center volunteers and volunteer list
  • Meets monthly with the Benton Center Director

Lebanon Center Coordinator:
Mackenzie Truex

  • Coordinates Activities and Event Calendars for the Lebanon Center with Albany Campus
  • Coordinates Study Jam at the Lebanon Center each term
  • Develops and manages Lebanon Center volunteers and volunteers list
  • Meets monthly with the Lebanon Center Director

  • Helps coordinate Courtyard Lunches Fall and Spring term
  • Chairs Council of Clubs meetings and reports to the SLC
  • Maintains communication with club reps
  • Meets regularly with Program Assistant - Clubs Coordinator

Communications Director:

  • Manages the SLC poster creation and publication processes through Media Services
  • Updates and manages reader boards
  • Attends weekly Events Task Force meetings
  • Communicates with LBCC Commuter and Media Services on behalf of the SLC
  • Communicates with Student Life and Leadership staff to update the LBCC website as needed

 Volunteer Coordinator:

  • Manages volunteer database, recruitment and contacts on a weekly basis
  • Chairs Volunteer Caucus and reports to Events Task Force
  • Meets bi-weekly with volunteers to retain and develop volunteers
  • Creates policies and procedures regarding volunteers and SLC

  • Works closely with Active Minds, Advising Center counselors and other health-oriented participants at the LBCC campuses
