Graduation

You need to apply for graduation at least one term before you plan to complete your degree. The application deadline is the fourth week of the previous term.

*Applying by this date allow time to review your degree audit prior to the add/drop deadline for spring classes. Applications received afterward will not be reviewed until after spring term classes have begun.

Commencement Ceremony

In general, you may participate in Commencement at the end of the academic year in which you finished your degree. If you are within 15 credits of completion and will complete in summer or fall term, you can participate in Commencement with a special request. Other exceptions are reviewed by the Registrar on a case-by-case basis.

You can fill out the Degree Wavier Petition.

Diplomas are mailed approximately eight weeks following the end of each term. If you are attending Commencement, you will receive a congratulatory message in a ceremonial cover at that time.

You may send an email to graduation@linnbenton.edu requesting a duplicate diploma. The email should include the following information:

  • Name
  • LBCC ID number
  • Degree type
  • Term the degree was awarded
  • Mailing address
  • Phone number or email address (so we can contact you if there is a question)
  • Reason for replacement
  • Signature
  • There will be a charge of $5 for diploma / $5 for cover
