American Association for Women in Community Colleges
The LBCC Chapter of the American Association for Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC) cordially invites you to join us for a year filled with opportunities for personal growth, community service, and a whole lot of fun! This organization is open to all employees and students (both women and men) of LBCC.
Our Motto:
To inspire, champion, and celebrate the talents within each of us.
Our Activities:
- We sponsor periodic meetings with an educational focus on a variety of topics.
- We run the Roadrunner Clothing Connection, where students can get clothes, shoes, and accessories for free.
- We provide networking and social opportunities on campus.
- We give at least two student scholarships each year.
- We provide leadership opportunities for women through Board membership, the Oregon Institute for Leadership Development, and the National Institute for Leadership Development.
- We host the Annual Working Women's Tea Event.
- We host the Annual Dollar Clothing Sale, giving opportunities to students and staff to get quality clothing for a dollar.
- We provide additional leadership development opportunities through Regional Leadership Summits, which are hosted by our AAWCC State of Oregon Chapter and are open to both staff and student members.
