Welcome to The Writing Zones

Students can make appointments or drop-in to the Writing Zone at the Benton Center. Students can receive one-on-one writing help in sessions that average 25 minutes, but sessions can range from 10 minutes to an hour. To make appointments visit
The Writing Zone provides students with writing help on assignments across the curriculum and during any phase of the writing process, including scholarship essays and resumes. It also provides students help with study skills.
Support for students who are English language learners also includes assistance with reading, writing, speaking, and English grammar. The Writing Zone also supports students from LBCC's ELA program.
Writing support for students is designed to cover many aspects of the writing process, brainstorming, organization, development, pre-writing, drafting, revising, identifying patterns of error (i.e. grammar, punctuation, formatting) and documenting sources (MLA, APA, CMS).
You do not have to be enrolled in a writing class to benefit from our services; we can help with any academic assignment, scholarship essay, job application, or your own work.
Students can also benefit from a variety of learning resources, including access to two computers, a printer, textbooks, handouts for quick clues and a dedicated study area.
Students can also submit papers to the  Online Writing Lab "OWL"
