LBCC is in partnership with the Knife River Training Center in Albany, Oregon to deliver best-in-class, FMCSA compliant Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) for Class A and Class B Commercial Driver Licenses.
This partnership provides Students a powerful learning advantage by combining educational support with intensive, industry-focused, hands-on driver training.
LBCC and the Knife River Training Center deliver a training experience that is focused on each Student; preparing Students for immediate entry into the workforce.
ELDT Training Schedule
Classes start about every five weeks and are held Monday through Friday.

The Knife River Training Center leverages over 130 years of combined truck driving and instructing experience for comprehensive and supportive learning, and we offer:
- small class sizes with a 3-to-1 student-to-instructor ratio
- collaborative learning combined with individualized time with your instructor
- a safety-focused facility designed for classroom learning and plenty of time behind the wheel

Courses Offered
This course is for individuals that have never held a CDL in the past or individuals that want to upgrade from a Class B to a Class A CDL.
This Course provides both ELDT Theory and ELDT Behind-the-Wheel training to earn your CDL.
We offer training for Class A and Class B licenses.
Classes start every five weeks and are held Monday through Friday.
Day Classes run for three weeks and two days from 7:30am to 4:00pm.
Night Classes run for five weeks from 5:00pm to 9:00pm (theory is conducted as "home study").
Tuition:
- $6,499: Individuals attending on their own
- $6,299: Businesses sending an employee
- $5,000: ELDT CDL Night Class option
This course is for individuals that have never held a CDL in the past and have already completed ELDT Theory.
This Course provides ELDT Behind-the-Wheel training only.
Classes start every five weeks and are held Monday through Friday.
Day Classes run for three weeks and two days from 12:00pm to 4:00pm.
Night Classes run for five weeks from 5:00pm to 9:00pm.
Tuition: $5,000.
This course is for individuals who have previously held a Class A or B CDL and need to test in order to get their CDL reinstated or for individuals that have completed an ELDT CDL Course elsewhere and need to pass their skills test.
This Course provides Behind-the-Wheel training only.
Classes offered Monday through Friday with start times of 7:30am, 12:00pm, or 5:00pm.
The tuition cost listed below is for two to three half-days of Behind-the-Wheel training working one-on-one with an instructor. Additional half-days of practice can be added for an additional cost.
Tuition: $1,400 - $1,800 (final tuition and schedule confirmed by CDL Program Manager).
This course is for individuals obtaining a HazMat endorsement for the first time.
This course provides theory only and is either one full-day (eight hours) or two half-days (four hours each).
Tuition: $300.

- LBCC will reach out to confirm information on the application and discuss next steps.
- Registration starts six weeks before the first day of each class. See our training schedule listed above for class dates. LBCC provides hands-on guidance through the prerequisite process.
- Once your prerequisites have been submitted by the registration deadline and tuition paid, LBCC will provide information on how to prepare for class!
