The LBCC Foundation announces its annual "Give Day" taking place on May 14th. This 24-hour showing of community support raises critical resources that help students overcome unexpected financial barriers and stay on track with their educational goals.

"Give Day represents our community's commitment to student resilience," said Steven Broncheau, Executive Director of the LBCC Foundation. "Each contribution removes a potential barrier, allowing students to stay focused on their education rather than financial emergencies."

The money raised provides immediate assistance to LBCC students facing unforeseen challenges. In 2024, the Foundation supported 67 students with an average of $420 per emergency, delivering a total of $29,776 in critical assistance. These resources helped students address essential needs including food security, transportation costs, utility bills, vision care, car repairs, and course materials.

This year's Give Day is made possible, in part, through generous support from community partners including Edward Jones - Christopher Scariano, Central Willamette Credit Union, and Boshart Trucking.

The LBCC Foundation collaborates with other departments and community resources to maximize impact. This partnership approach ensures students receive the most well-rounded support possible while addressing needs that other resources may not cover.

Community members, alumni, businesses, and organizations are invited to participate in Give Day by donating. LBCC Gives Hope. And your support is why we can.
