‘LBCC Gives Hope’ Day of Giving raises more than $21,000 for the Emergency Fund in a single day

The Linn-Benton Community College Foundation announced more than $21,000 in contributions received in a single 24-hour period on May 10th during the Foundation’s fourth annual “Give Day”. This year’s event, entitled “LBCC Gives Hope” raised money for the Emergency Fund to help LBCC students with expenses on top of their tuition.

“Raising money for the Emergency Fund is really important,” said LBCC Foundation Secretary Jo Ann McQueary. “You can get a scholarship. You can get loans. But you can’t always get a set of tires. This money removes some of those barriers for many LBCC students.”

More than 60 community members, both inside and outside the college, chose to make donations. In addition, there was nearly 100% participation from the Foundation Board through donations and volunteering during the event.
