TITLE: DRIVER'S EDUCATION REDUCED OR WAIVED LAB FEE

PURPOSE

As a state approved provider for driver education classes, LBCC participates in authorized programs that facilitate the opportunity for all members of the community to learn a vital skill.

STATEMENT

OAR -737-015-0105 requires that districts adopt written policies and procedures for driver instruction programs regarding reduced or waived tuition for low-income pupils.

The state will fully reimburse the cost of providing driver education instruction to low- income students under the age of 21. Linn-Benton Community College's Driver Education lab fee will be waived for students under the age of 21 in families with low income. Documentation of low income shall be self-reported based on the student's eligibility for Pell Grant or free or reduced lunch. Information is subject to request for documentation or verification from the director of Linn-Benton Community College Driver Education Program. The self-report form shall be presented at the time of registration in lieu of payment.
