Pay For Print / P4P
There is a charge for printing (6¢ per page for black & white, 12¢ for color). You must pre-pay by placing money into your online printing account in one of two ways:
- Prior to printing by paying on our 24/7 webpage via debit or credit card - https://1card.linnbenton.edu
- Prior to printing by paying at the LBCC Business Office, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (you may pay via cash, check, debit card or credit card, or at a center registration counter)
Pay for Print Facts for Students
- Our printing system is a pre-pay system. This means you will need to have funds in your printing account before you can print.
- You can load your printing account at https://1card.linnbenton.edu, at the Business Office on Albany campus, or at the registration counters of the Lebanon, Sweet Home or Benton Centers.
- Your Account number is your LB ID number for WebRunner (previously SIS) (aka X number, substitute a 0 for the X, for example 000001789 instead of X00001789) or 93 number for DPP (dual-enrolled) students. You will enter your account number and you will be forced to choose a pin number at first login.
- Refunds will be given by request only. These requests can be made at the Business Office or center registration counter during finals week.
- Student printing accounts do expire. All accounts will be set to a zero balance ($0.00) at the end of Summer Term each year.
- We suggest a minimum deposit of $5 on your account.
Printing Tips for Students
- Think before you print. Is this printout really needed? Also, proof your paper before you print it for errors.
- Change the text size of your document. Use a smaller sized font. A smaller text will often reduce the document size, saving on printing.
- Print only the pages that you immediately need. Type in a range of page numbers you want to print, or mark an area on a Web site that you want to print, and then launch the print dialog box.
- Print multiple pages per sheet. Tip: Choose "Handouts" and the number of slides when printing in PowerPoint or choose 2 pages per sheet when printing Word documents.
- Print to PDF. There are free PDF writers available that would allow you to “print” to a PDF file which can be opened with the free Adobe Reader program. (You can download CutePDF at http://www.cutepdf.com/products/cutepdf/Writer.asp and Adobe Reader at http://get.adobe.com/reader).
- Store your documents on a thumb drive.
- Attach them into an email and send to yourself for later.

Tips for Instructors to Reduce Printing
We know that there a times where nothing but a print out will do, but there are many options nowadays for electronic file sharing and transfer, we’d like to start moving to a non hard copy way of dealing with student papers and assignments, and we need your help.
- Allow students to turn in homework in electronic format – With all the editing and review capabilities available to us today, it is possible to make corrections and comments on student work electronically. Since most documents that students hand in are created in a variant of Office, you can comment the document using the “Review” tab and save your changes, as well as using a simple text box to make comments or post the grade on the paper. Then you have your choice of how to hand back the assignment, email, and Moodle all have this capability or you can print them out using your department or office printer and save the cost to the student.
- Utilize the tools you already have – We have a few e-learning options and a network dropbox available for students to both pick up data and turn in assignments. If you haven’t tried any of these options before, they are something to consider. You can also put lecture notes, power points, and anything else you think students might benefit from available for them to download electronically. - Direct students to download your syllabus from your instructor website rather than printing it out as a handout – If you post your syllabus on your instructor website, students can download and save an electronic copy to their jump drive, or email it to themselves as a way of keeping it accessible where ever they may be. This way they can choose to print it or not.
- Use Printing Services – Rather than expecting students to print out large documents that are required for classes, consider using printing services.
- “Print” your notes, lectures, power point slides using a PDF writer – there are free PDF writers available that would allow you to “print” to a PDF which can be opened with the free Adobe Reader program. This would allow students to save to their jump drive and reduce printing and would address the fact that not all students have Microsoft Office at home.
- Be willing to accept black and white “proofs” – while some assignments definitely require color, printing them out in color may not be necessary. If you require a print out, think about whether a black and white “proof” would suffice and have the students turn in an electronic copy so you can still evaluate their color copy.
- Don’t require a students to make multiple copies of a article/report/outline for all other students in the class – there may be some cases where this is a valid requirement (peer assessments or grading) but having copies made for every student in a class other than this could be an unnecessary waste of paper and ink, and with the pay for print system, these copies could have to come out of student’s pockets.
We respect and are committed to protecting your privacy. We may collect personally identifiable information when you visit our site. We also automatically receive and record information on our server logs from your browser including your IP address, cookie information and the page(s) you visited. We will not sell your personally identifiable information to anyone.
Your payment and personal information is always safe. Our Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software is the industry standard and among the best software available today for secure commerce transactions. It encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name, and address, so that it cannot be read over the Internet.
You should review your account balance at the end of each term. If your remaining balance is equal to or less than $50.00, a cash refund can be obtained from the Business Office in Calapooia Center, the Benton Center Registration Office or the Lebanon Center Registration Office. If the refund is greater than $50, please come to the Business Office in Calapooia Center to request a refund by direct deposit or check. You can sign up for Direct Deposit on WebRunner. Refunds are processed bi-weekly. Remaining balances on accounts will be forwarded to the Oregon State Unclaimed Property Division annually in July.
You can use your Pay to Print account immediately after depositing funds.
