About our students:

  • In terms of student enrollment, we rank 6th out of the 17 community colleges in Oregon.
  • 30% of local high school graduates come directly to LBCC after graduation.
  • In 2007-2008, 24,286 individuals took at least one class at LBCC. Of these, 24% attended full time, 33% attended part time, and 44% were taking noncredit classes only.
  • The average age of full-time students is 23; the part-time average is 30.
  • Counting every student who takes at least one class, the average age is 36.
  • The average age of students taking noncredit courses only is 47; however, all age groups are well represented.
  • During the 2007-2008 academic year, 38% of our students lived in Benton County, and 45% lived in Linn County.
  • During 2007-2008, 43% of the total student body was male and 56% female (1% was unreported).
  • During 2007-2008, 10.9% of LBCC's students were minority students. Of these, 40% were Hispanic, 26% were Asian-Pacific Islander, 12% were Native American, and 6% were Black.
  • 43 international students attended LBCC in 2007-2008.
  • 942 students were registered at LBCC in the LBCC/OSU Degree Partnership Program during 2007-2008. More than 6,000 students have been admitted to the program since it began in 1998.
About our staff:
  • There are currently 1,062 LBCC employees, with more than half (57%) being part-time noncontracted (604). 43% (458) are contracted, with 12% of our contracted staff in management (53), 52% are support staff (239), and 36% are full-time faculty (166).
  • More than 76% of the full-time contracted faculty and administrative staff have graduate degrees.
About our funding:
Our total budget for 2007-08 is $95.5 million. Of that, the general fund budget is $47.3 million.
  • 52% of the general fund budget comes from the state, based on FTE.
  • 28.6% comes from tuition and fees.
  • 15.3% comes from local property taxes.
  • 3.5% is from other revenue and fees.

We have more than 60 professional technical programs guided by more than 400 community and industry members on 38 advisory committees.
