Vehicle Safety
Albany Community Education offers many classes in driving and vehicle safety. Check the current Schedule of Classes for this term's classes, dates and locations.
Boat Safety
Coast Guard Auxilliary staff provides this class about changes in boating laws and regulations. It includes regulations concerning boating and personal water craft. This class meets the requirements needed for students to apply for the new marine card. Call Albany Community Education at (541)-917-4840 for more information.
Driver Education
Driver Education through LBCC's Albany Community Education serves students throughout Linn and Benton counties. The content and duration of this class is established by the state. Student fees and some funding from the state make this course possible.
Mandatory 30 hours classroom instruction, 3-hour parent/student orientation at first meeting and 12 hours behind-the-wheel training and observation.
Required at registration: Driver permit along with copy of document and $220 fee. Fee for students age 18 and older $250. Fee for students age 15-17 with a license $430.
Completed packet may be returned within 24 hours after registration application. To receive a refund class must be dropped 24 hours prior to start date. Students age 15-17 who obtain a license prior to course completion will be charged an additional $210.

AARP Driver Safety Program
In cooperation with AARP and the Albany Senior Center, Albany Community Education offers AARP Driver Safety Program. The course helps drivers over 50 improve their driving skills. It covers basic driving rules and accident prevention, hazards, adverse road conditions, and the effects of aging and medications. The class also may result in a reduction in insurance premiums.
Motorcycle Safety
TEAM OREGON conducts motorcycle riding safety courses for beginning and experienced riders. Call Albany Community Education at (541) 917-4840 for all Motorcycle Safety questions and for a brochure describing each course and its requirements.
Tractor Safety
Tractor Safety classes prepare students for working with heavy and specialized farming equipment. The classes are usually offered during spring and summer breaks when the campus parking lot is available to maneuver the machinery. The class is required for students age 14 to 18 who work with tractors and other farm machinery in Oregon.
