FAQ

1.  Can I apply if I am pursuing a certificate, rather than a degree?
The TRIO program can only serve students pursuing an associates degree, or intending to transfer to a four-year college, or planning to enroll in the OSU Degree Partnership Program. If you already have an associates degree, we cannot serve you.

2.  Does your program offer scholarships?
Currently, we do not offer any scholarships.  However, we have helped many of our TRIO students successfully apply for LBCC and other scholarships.

3.  I can't afford my textbooks - can TRIO/SSS help?
Yes!  We have textbooks for basic classes (math, reading, writing, biology) that are available for checkout for the duration of each term. We also can assist you in finding affordable textbooks.

4.  TRIO seems to offer a lot of services and resources that are available elsewhere on campus. What is so special about TRIO/SSS?
We understand that TRIO students have unique needs and require additional support.
In TRIO, you have the opportunity to form connections and build community with our staff and with other students who share a similar background.

We help you develop a personal success plan that keeps you on track for successfully meeting your academic and career goals. Our staff is committed to your success!

Our TRIO tutors are available on a regular day-to-day basis to help you with math, writing, homework and study skills.

All of your college needs can be met in one place in TRIO.  We provide academic advising, financial aid advising, career exploration, and college success workshops.
We also have a computer lab and study room/lounge available for TRIO students.
