The Gay-Straight Alliance is off and running! We have some great plans for October and I hope you can join us in planning and spreading the word.Here's the first thing we have on him is schedule:
WHAT: National Coming Out Day
WHEN: Oct 11th
ACTIVITIES:
- We are planning on collecting and printing coming-out stories. Some labeled display in large-format on the windows of the Diversity Achievement Center.
- We we will share in small format and hand out students in the quad.
- We will also create a banner with handprints that symbolize the many people are club brings together.
- In conjunction with this, we are also going to try to get a display case in North Santiam Hall where we can create a dynamic display of pictures, art, and writing that reflects our community.
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
- Join us at our next meeting (Monday, 2 PM, DAC).
- Look for an email soliciting coming out stories and respond.

FUTURE ACTIVITIES: At the meeting we also talked about having a dance, showing documentaries, playing games, having a Rock Band day, soliciting art that celebrates the LBGT community, having a Day of Silence combined with a silent auction. Stay tuned for more.
