College Credit for Non-Profit Internships
If you would like to receive LBCC college credit for volunteer service work in the community working with non-profit organizations, you may be eligible to enroll in Service-Learning courses at LBCC.  Service-Learning is an instructional program which allows you to earn college credit for learning outside the classroom.  Service-Learning allows you to gain experience related to your major.  If you are a Service-Learning student, you choose to apply your skills working with community partners in addressing real community needs.  In addition to identifying learning objectives, you will engage in faculty-led guided reflection designed to promote critical thinking, citizenship and civic responsibility. The reflection may take the form of discussion, oral presentations, a reflective journal, or other agreed upon activities.

Faculty Coordinators offer you assistance in finding placements that suit your interest, skills and career goals.  You may earn between 1 and 14 transferable elective credits.  Each credit requires 30 hours of service.
