There will only be two LBCC Financial Aid  scholarship application cycles: FALL and SPRING
(Some scholarship applications may continue to be offered winter term directly through individual departments - see individual scholarship descriptions for details.)

FALL: Applications will be accepted by the LBCC Financial Aid Office beginning September 26, 2011 and are due by 5:00 pm on October 21, 2011.  Fall scholarships will be payable to students for their winter and/or spring term (see individual scholarship descriptions for details.)

*NOTE: If a student submitted a complete Scholarship and Awards Application last spring term, a “Supplemental Application” for fall term 2011 may be used (see form section of this page.)  This shortened form allows Financial Aid to use the complete application previously submitted - just check the scholarships for consideration. This form will be available after September 15, 2011.

SPRING: New applications are required and will be accepted by the LBCC Financial Aid Office beginning April 2, 2012 and are due by 5:00 pm on April 27, 2012.  Spring scholarships will be payable to students for their fall, winter and/or spring term the following school year (see individual scholarship descriptions for details.)

HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATING SENIORS: Applications are due to your high school counselors by April 20, 2012 for the LBCC school year 2012-2013.

COUNSELORS: All high school senior applications must be received by the LBCC Financial Aid Office by 5:00 pm on Friday, April 27, 2012.

SCHOLARSHIP DATA BASE:  For the most accurate information on scholarships - updates on award descriptions, terms to apply, award amounts etc. will be completed by September 15, 2011.

Advice and Tips for Scholarship Applications

Every year many scholarships go unawarded due to a lack of qualified applicants. In order to receive a scholarship you must apply!

Our scholarship database information is subject to change. Please be aware that the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form must be completed prior to applying for many of these awards. FAFSA forms are available at the Financial Aid Office, Takena Hall 117, or online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/.

Detailed information on each scholarship is available by clicking on the title. Please see the full description to determine your eligibility and to ensure you know the requirements of completing the application for that particular scholarship.

Simply list all the scholarships for which you meet the listed criteria. Applications are available only online and may be downloaded to complete. Do NOT send applications as attachments via email - they will NOT be processed.

Applicants will have an advantage if:

  • FAFSA information has been received prior to these processes
  • Transcripts from ANY other college/university have been requested and received prior to the application due date
  • Recommendation letters are secured well in advance of the due date and are submitted with the completed application and budget sheet
  • Applicants must have at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA to apply for scholarships
  • Applicants have a declared major and it is correctly listed with the Registrar's Office. To check in WebRunner (previously SIS), follow steps in box below:
  • Log into WebRunner (previously SIS)
  • Choose Student and Financial Aid information
  • Choose Student Records
  • View Student Information
  • Scroll down and hit submit
  • Look under Primary Curriculum
  • Major is listed at the bottom
  • If the major listed is incorrect, please go to Admissions and Registration to update your major
  • Proceed to WebRunner (previously SIS)

GOOD LUCK!

Outside Scholarships, Talent Grants and Resources

There are many "outside" scholarships that are available throughout the year. These are posted in a self-service kiosk outside the Financial Aid Office, Takena-117. New scholarships come in weekly, so it is advisable to check the kiosk often.

Talent Grants are available through co-curricular and athletic organizations, and Program Grants are offered through your Department/Division Chair. Contact them for details.
