What is RoadRunner Mail Powered by Google?
RoadRunner Mail Powered by Google is LBCC's implementation of Google Apps for Education. RoadRunner Mail Powered by Google provides more than 7+ gigabytes of storage and contains features such as integrated chat and spam protection. For more information, see Google's Apps for Education information page.
Why did we change email services?
The old WebMail server hardware had reached its end of life and needed to be replaced. After extensive research Information Services has determined that partnering with Google will provide students with a fast, feature-rich, cost-effective email solution at no cost to the college.
The decision follows discussion with key groups across campus. Several groups endorsed the implementation, including the President, Academic Affairs and the Office of Disability Services. The college feels that providing every student an email address as well as the other Google tools will enhance computer literacy skills and improve student success.
