Parents
At the PCDC we know that parents are the first and most important teachers of their children. Therefore, we believe that an environment of open communication between parents and teachers is vital. Parents are informed about their children's experiences and class activities through:- daily conversations with the teachers
- newsletters
- parent conferences
- parent meetings
- the PCDC web site
- bulletin board displays
- documentation of children's learning
- Parents are welcome at the PCDC at any time.
The PCDC also offers a range of opportunities for parents who wish to become more involved in their child's education at the center, would like to become more connected with other parents, or who would like to enhance their parenting skills. These opportunities include:
- parent education seminars (can be taken for LBCC credit)
- classroom co-oping or volunteering in the children's classrooms
- monthly parents' workshops
- weekly parent discussion groups or meetings
- community-building project committees
- parent/teacher workdays
- family school events
