International Student Speaker's Bureau

What is the International Student Speakers Bureau?

Many international students find that financing their college education can be difficult due to lack of available international student jobs and a high cost of attendance. LBCC faculty also struggle to provide opportunities for their students to gain real world experience and a broader understanding of the global culture and workforce that graduates will join.

The ISSB is a listing of speakers who are willing to give presentations and share their cultural heritage with members of the LBCC community. The bureau is envisioned broadly drawing from the talent and experiences of all international students. International student presentations will allow non-international students to gain valuable experience of other cultures and have the opportunity to practice interacting with members of the global community. The International Student Speakers Bureau will allow community members to engage with LBCC students in the program and allow for the sharing of cultural experiences in the broader Linn and Benton communities. By applying to the program, you will receive training in developing a presentation as well as be added to the list of possible speakers.

What countries are represented in the International Student Speakers Bureau?
The LBCC ISSB program currently hosts 10 speakers from:

Hong Kong
Japan
Korea
Mexico
Native American Indian
Taiwan
