Distance Education
Media Services supports the delivery of instruction to off-campus sites throughout the LBCC district. We utilize a variety of technologies and delivery systems including telecourses, prerecorded videotapes, live-interactive television, online Internet courses (Blackboard), cable and satellite teleconferencing.
We also assist in college-wide planning, design, and installation of advanced electronic applications for programs in distance education, multimedia, and information services.
For more information visit the LBCC Distance Education web site at http://www.linnbenton.edu/go/distance-education.
You may also visit the Oregon Colleges Online (OCCDL) web site for statewide distance education information. ( http://occdl.chemeketa.edu/ )
Online Courses
LBCC utilizes the Blackboard course management system for delivery of online courses and course resources. Components include tools such as online testing, discussion board, gradebooks, publisher resources and calendars. These tools are available for use in a complete online course or independently in a campus-based web site. If you have questions about this or other online course-related services, contact us!
Interactive Television (ITV)
Our distance education classroom features remote controlled cameras, switching equipment, special effects generator, an overhead camera, and push-to-talk microphones.
