Sharon Ketchum was a part-time faculty member for ten years, during which time she has primarily taught the evening biology classes (after 4pm program). Sharon received her B.A. from Luther College, and spent her Junior year at University of Nottingham in England. She earned her M.S. from University of North Dakota. Sharon teachs the general biology series for nonscience majors (Bio 101, 102 and 103), Biology for majors (BI 211) and Human Anatomy and Physiology (Bi 231, 232 and 233). Stephen Lesback

917-4775 • Stephen.Lebsack@linnbenton.edu
Stephen Lebsack has been a member of the Biology Department for the past 20 years. In addition to serving as the department chair, Stephen teaches courses in wildlife conservation, environmental science, general biology, human anatomy and physiology, and bird biology and identification. Stephen's academic experiences have been in zoology, marine biology, and fisheries, and he brings this perspective to his courses. Not surprisingly, his personal interests are closely related to his professional activities. Stephen enjoys most outdoor activities, but particularly enjoys bird watching. Recently, outdoor activities have taken a backseat to remodeling. Stephen and his family have purchased a 100 year old farm in Shedd and have spent the past four summers remodeling the farmhouse.

Courses taught:
Bi 101-03 - General Biology
Bi 231-33 - Human Anatomy and Physiology
Bi 251 - Wildlife Conservation
Bi 252 - Wildlife Resources

Carolyn J. Lebsack
917-4762 • lebsacc@linnbenton.edu
Carolyn has been teaching at LBCC since 1976. Carolyn enjoys biking, hiking, gardening, observing nature, visiting aquariums and oceanariums, and going to Disneyland. She spends much of her "spare" time participating in family activities. As a good biologist she very much believes in recycling whether it is old cars, clothes, furniture or cans. Having grown up on the Oregon coast she loves exploring the various beach habitats and camping at Sunset Bay State Park. Her background is very diverse having both expertise in human anatomy and physiology and marine biology. She had been involved for the last two years in a National Science Foundation Grant called OCEPT (Oregon Collaborative for Excellence in the Preparation of Teachers). She participated as a fellow the first year and revised her marine biology course to be more education major friendly, and this year and next she will be a biology team leader for the grant. Carolyn enjoys participating in education reform and desires for everyone to enjoy and be an active participant in their science classes.

Courses Taught
BI 231-233 Human Anatomy and Physiology
BI 101 Marine Biology for Education Majors
