The GroupWise Password

Your GroupWise e-mail account can be password-protected.

  • You may want a GroupWise password if you feel that your GroupWise account might be inappropriately accessed while you are away from your desk. Remember to always close GroupWise whenever you leave your desk.
  • You must have a GroupWise password if you want to access your GroupWise email from off-campus (using GroupWise Web Access: GWA).

Remember that your Novell GroupWise (email access) password is different from your Novell Netware password (for server access). Unlike your Novell Netware password, GroupWise passwords do not change (unless we reset it for you) and they are case sensitive!

Setting or Changing your GroupWise Password
(See below for GroupWise Web Access password help)

Select 'Tools' from the GroupWise main screen menu bar
Select 'Options... '
Double-click the 'Security' icon

Type in a 'New password:' and then 'Confirm new password:'
       Passwords must be at least 5 alpha-numeric characters
       To change your password: enter your 'Old password:' first

Click 'OK'

If you are at home and can not access this, or if you need assistance, please call the Help Desk.  We can set a GroupWise password for you.


Changing Your GroupWise WebAccess Password

Select 'Options' (on the right, next to "Logout").
Select the Password tab
Type your existing password, then type your new password twice.
Click 'Save'.
