LBCC Mission and Indicators

Mission: Linn-Benton Community College supports the dreams of our students by providing comprehensive programs and services that are innovative and accessible. We are passionately committed to meeting the educational needs of individuals, businesses and our communities through learner-centered and life-changing experiences.

Helping build communities that are better places to live and to work, through education for the many, and not just the few.

Theme #1: Community - Economic Vitality

We will strengthen the economic vitality of our community by providing a better educated and technically skilled workforce.

Objective A: LBCC will regularly assess the knowledge and skills needed for an economically vital community.
Objective B: LBCC will develop strategic initiatives and partnerships to support community industry educational needs.
Objective C: LBCC will integrate the education and training needs of the community into short and long term planning.
Objective D: LBCC will continuously improve graduate employability through integrating the changing needs of community employers with curricular programs.

Economic Vitality Indicators & Progress

Theme #2: Community - Educational Pathways

We will increase the educational attainment of our community by offering a continuum of learning opportunities.

Objective A: LBCC will create successful transitions into the college for both recent high school graduates and adult learners.
Objective B: LBCC will advise, engage, and support students in ways that increase successful movement through designated momentum points (as defined by statewide student success indicators).
Objective C: LBCC will continuously improve educational goal attainment, including certificate, associate, and bachelor's degree completion.
Objective D: LBCC will provide options for students to reenter the learning continuum and move to points beyond the college.
Objective E: LBCC will provide lifelong educational learning opportunities that meet the interests and needs of the community.

Theme #3: Community - Culture and Enrichment

We will enhance cultural proficiency and citizen involvement within our community by sponsoring related learning opportunities.

Objective A: LBCC will be a major provider of stimulating cultural experiences.
Objective B: LBCC will be a leader in developing workplace and civic cultural proficiency.
Objective C: LBCC will assist students in seeing difference, understanding the value that difference makes, and developing skills for responding in positive and affirming ways.
