The Career and Counseling Center offers a broad range of career planning tools and job search information for students and community members.
Career Information System (CIS)
CIS is a computerized career exploration program that includes tools for self-assessment, career exploration, goal-setting and decision-making. It also includes Oregon-based labor market information, financial aid resources and education and training information.
SKILLS - helps people identify the skills they prefer to use and then make a connection between those skills and the skills required for various occupations.
IDEAS - helps people identify how their current interests connect to various occupations
JOBWORKS - A program that helps people learn the full range of skills needed to conduct a successful job search including preparation, data collection, resume, cover letter, interviews and follow-up.
Career Life Planning Class (HD208)
Career Life Planning, assists students in identifying their interests, skills and values. Students learn strategies to utilize career information services to create personal goals and a life plan. Check our online Schedule of Classes for more information.
Career Planning Online (CPO)
Developed by Lynn Bain, an LBCC Counselor, CPO is an interactive web-based program designed to assist students in the career decision-making process by using a variety of self-assessment activities.
Career Assessments
With an LBCC counselor referral, people may take either the Strong Interest Inventory or the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and use the results to assist in their career exploration process. The SII helps people identify their interests and how they connect with careers while the MBTI helps people see the connection between personality characteristics and job satisfaction. Resume Assistance
Career and Employment Specialists are available in the Career Center and at the Workforce Development Centers to assist job seekers with resume writing. Click here to view a PDF of our 'Prepare Yourself for Employment' booklet.

There are workforce development centers located in Lebanon, Albany and Corvallis. LBCC Career and Employment Specialists work part-time at each center to provide community members with LBCC information and job search assistance.
Student Employment
Any person who has taken one credit at LBCC is eligible to use Student Employment services. People must register with the Student Employment Office in the Career and Counseling Center, Takena Hall, room 101. See our Student Employment page for more details.
Career and Employment Specialists
Career and Employment Specialists are available to assist students and community members with job search, career information, resume and interviewing assistance and labor market information. There is also a Career and Employment Specialist located at each of the three Workforce Development Centers in Linn and Benton counties.
