Tech Prep Scholar

The Tech Prep Scholar program provides students an opportunity to earn college credits for work-based learning during the summer between their senior year and first year of continuing education.

Students can earn a total of six transferable college credits but only have to pay for one credit. Students can earn up to five credits of WE280 - CWE Career Exploration and one credit for WE202 -CWE Seminar.

Who should participate?
Graduating high school seniors interested in pursuing further education beyond high school.

Requirements: Learning Objectives, Weekly Log of Hours & Activities, Seminar Projects, and Self-evaluation
  • Satisfactory Evaluation of Worksite Performance
  • Approved Worksite as a Learning Station
  • Attendance at work-based learning seminars to be arranged
  • Completion of CWE Agreement,
Quick Facts:
Academic admissions standards: Graduating high school seniors.
Enrollment in high school required: No, must be graduated.
Referral or permission required: Contact your high school guidance counselor or career center for more information.
Regular LBCC classes or special program classes: Regular LBCC classes
Other restrictions: Student must be employed in a approved work-based learning site.
Enrollment limit: Participation limited to 45 students.
