Tuition Grant Information & Instructions

The Parenting Education Grant Fund exists due to the efforts of the Parenting Education Advisory Committee, who raises the funds with an annual auction, and from contributions from individuals and organizations in the community. Selection is based on need and funds available. All information is confidential. Application will be reviewed for eligibility by the Parenting Education Department Chair.

Grants are available at three levels:

  1. Partial Tuition Grant. The student pays ½ of the tuition and the lab fee. This payment should be attached to the application form. This is the most commonly awarded grant.
  2. Full Tuition Grant. This is available for families who are unable to pay tuition. Students are asked to pay the lab fee. If this is a hardship, please note that on the application.
  3. Foreign Student Grant. This grant pays the difference between in-state tuition and foreign or out of state tuition. Students applying for this grant should attach a check for tuition at the in-state rate plus the lab fee.

How to apply:*

  1. Open, print out and complete the grant application form - CLICK HERE to access the grant application. (IMPORTANT: This is a two-page document. Please be sure to complete both pages and sign the application.)
  2. Open, print out and complete a registration form for the class you wish to attend - CLICK HERE to access the registration form.
  3. Attach your portion of the class costs (please make checks/money orders payable to LBCC) to the grant application and registration forms and submit everything to:

    If you wish to drop off your application in person, the Department office is located in the Luckiamute Center, room LM-101 on the LBCC Albany Campus. (IMPORTANT: All grant application materials must be received in the Parenting Education Department office by no later than the end of the first week of each term. If you wish to apply for a grant and we do not receive your application in a timely manner, be aware that you may incur late fees with the Business Office.)
  4. In the event you should fail to qualify for a tuition grant, you will be personally contacted by a member of the Parenting Education Department. Applicants who do not qualify will be wholly liable for all upaid tuition and class fees, or for dropping the class via SIS (Student Information System) by the date officially listed as the "last day to drop a class with a refund" for the applicable term (NOTE: this information can be found inside the printed schedule for each term).
