Middle School Option: 5th to 8th Grades

Specializing in the upper elementary grades allows you to teach in an elementary school with grades K-8 or to teach subject areas such as social studies or language arts in a middle school.

Completing the Associate of Arts degree at LBCC is your most flexible option. The AA (OT) allows you to transfer to any public educator training program in the state of Oregon
as a full junior.

Identify your transfer school early to get the most "bang for your buck" with the LBCC courses you take. You want all of your first and second year work to count! It is very important to work closely with an advisor. Please call Family Resources and Education at (541) 917-4897 to schedule an appointment.

Many educator training programs require experience in a public school classroom. You may gain this experience at LBCC by enrolling in ED 101A. You must plan ahead. Most public schools have health and safety requirements (eg. criminal records checks and vaccinations) before you can work in a classroom.
