The EMT-BASIC is a 15 or 20 week, 10 credit course designed to train the individual in fundamental aspects of emergency care. Currently, LBCC offers two EMT-BASIC courses per year, fall and winter terms. The first 24 students who turn in a completed application will make up the next available class.
Students are able to view the complete EMT-Basic: National Standard Curriculum information by clicking on the link on our web page and going to Appendix L. The curriculum will allow students to view both the cognitive and psychomotor objectives for the basic program. Students who successfully complete the EMT-BASIC course will be eligible to sit for the National and State certifying exams. Applications for all EMT levels receive a thorough criminal history background check by the Oregon Health Division.
To obtain an application form and registration information, please click on the "Basic Registration Information" tab on the left hand side of this page.
Please read carefully the EMT Basic Registration. Submit your completed records to AC-102 to be reviewed by the secretary. For more information, call the EMT secretary, Gayle Rushing, at 541-917-4235 or Administrative Assistant, Teresa Thomas at 541-917-4237.
