Technical Orientation
About the OrientationA new tool is available to help you brush up on your Blackboard and online skills. This orientation is a FREE, self-paced, non-credit course which may be started at any time before or during the term. A facilitator is available to help answer questions (see contact information below).
For maximum benefit, we encourage you to complete this orientation by the end of week two of the term. Most students report spending about three hours on completing the components of this online orientation.
Self-Enrolling in the Orientation
Before you begin, note that you will be asked for an email address. If you do not already have one through another service, as a current LBCC student you may apply for an email account at www.linnbenton.edu/go/netmail/apply .
Step 1. Once you have read (or printed) these steps, go to blackboard.linnbenton.edu .
Step 2. At the Blackboard main page, click the

when finished.
Step 3. At the top left, click on the
tab, then in the "Course Search" box type "Blackboard Orientation" and click the
button.
Step 4. On the resulting page, scroll down below the course catalog information to find your course listing; to the far right of course's name will be an
button, click this. Next you will be prompted to click the

button that come up on screens thereafter.
Step 5. That's it! You are now "enrolled" in the orientation and may proceed to complete the activities as described on the first class page. In future visits to Blackboard you will not need to create another account or "enroll" in the course; instead, you may login directly to the system and click on your course name on the right hand-side of the
