Testing Accomodations

Some students need accommodations to complete tests.  Alternative formats may be prepared for use in the classroom.  Frequently testing outside of the classroom is scheduled.  In addition to classroom test accommodation, coordination between the Office of Disability Services and the Student Assessment Office allows the scheduling of appropriate accommodations for the College Placement Test, the GED and other tests proctored through the Student Assessment Office.  Students who need testing accommodations should be sure to speak with someone in the ODS prior to the day of their scheduled test. Some common test accommodations include:

  • extended time
  • scribe
  • reader
  • use of word processor for essay tests
  • use of calculator or multiplication table
  • use of spell checker
  • reduced-distraction area
  • other
