The LBCC Office of Disability Services and YOU!
The Office of Disability Services (ODS) at Linn-Benton Community College supports students and guests attending LBCC sponsored events. ODS staff members offer information, planning and advocacy coaching. A variety of services are customized, based on disability documentation provided by the student. LBCC does not test or diagnose disabilities.
The Office of Disability Services (ODS) provides assistance to students who have documented disabilities by:
- reviewing documentation to confirm eligibility
- identifying appropriate accommodations
- coordinating services in the classroom
- providing support i.e. assistive technology, testing accommodations, and others
- academic coaching and advocating

What is a Disability?
A disability is a condition that limits one or more major life functions. At college, mobility, fine motor skills, vision, hearing, remembering and learning are functions that may be affected. If you believe a disability is affecting your success in school, contact our office immediately.
When Can I start Working with the Office of Disability Services?
You may document your disability to with ODS as early as one year prior to attending LBCC. Once ODS receives your completed Getting Started forms and documentation of disability you are ready to start utilizing services. Each term, you must request accommodations at least six weeks prior to the start of the next term.
