Registration

You can register through the regular registration processes at LBCC (for LBCC courses) and at OSU (for OSU courses). Both institutions have Web registration. The LBCC and OSU Schedules of Classes will give you additional information regarding registration processes.

Registering for your first term at OSU
As a degree partnership student, you have been admitted to both LBCC and OSU, and you are eligible to register at both schools. When an LBCC/OSU degree partnership student wants to register for the first time for classes at OSU, you must do several things and check with several people to make sure registration goes smoothly.

If you have never registered for an OSU course before, the information below will help you register easily and successfully.

How do I know whether I am eligible to register?
Degree partnership students are eligible to register at OSU once they are accepted into the Degree Partnership Program. As a degree partnership student, you remain eligible to register at OSU from your term of admission through the next ten terms, even if you do not actually register for classes.

If you have not registered at OSU within that time frame, or if you have any questions about your eligibility to register, contact the OSU Registrar's Office.

What should I do before I register?
The most important thing to do before you try to register for a class is to contact the OSU advisor for your major. The advisor (or head advisor's office for your college) will provide you with academic advising assistance and, when your advising is complete, will give you a registration PIN (Personal Identification Number). The registration PIN is necessary for you to register at OSU. When you log in to your account on the OSU web site and access the online registration page, you will be asked for the registration PIN. If you do not enter it, you cannot register for classes.

You should call the advisor for the college and major that you are pursuing or interested in. If you have not declared a major, you should contact the advisor for the University Exploratory Studies Program. Your advisor will help you with academic questions and advice. It is strongly recommended that you meet with your advisor(s) at least once per term.

The list of advisors is published in the Schedule of Classes, which is available online only. The advisor information is also located on the OSU Registrar's web site (http://oregonstate.edu/registrar) by clicking on the information item titled "GAPs, PINs, and Advisors."

When can I register for classes?
Registration for classes at OSU follows a priority schedule, so you need to check the priority schedule to see when you can register. The priority registration schedule starts during the last month of the previous term. It is based on class standing (e.g., seniors, juniors, sophomores, freshmen) and the first letter of your last name. Dates for priority registration are published in the printed and web versions of the Schedule of Classes (http://oregonstate.edu) and also on the OSU Registrar's web site (http://oregonstate.edu/registrar).

How do I register for classes?
You can register through the online registration page on the OSU web site. From the OSU home page, you can login to your account either by clicking on Student Online Services option (left side of the page), or by going to the Registration Login Quick Link (Quick Links are at the bottom of the page). The web site includes instructions for registration. Remember, you will need your registration PIN from your advisor before you can register at OSU for the first time. Students new to OSU who are starting Fall Quarter can register during an OSU START session or at OSU CONNECT. Contact the OSU SOAR Office for more information, either at (541) 737-7627, or at (http://oregonstate.edu/soar/). SOAR also has great information for OSU students on all aspects of student academic life and orientation. For New Student Orientation for Winter and Spring quarters, please call (541) 737-7627.
