College Now
Earning College Credit While Still in High School
What is College Now?
- College Now provides high school students with the opportunity to complete both a high school course and a college course simultaneously and receive credit from both your high school and LBCC.
- Courses are taught at the student's high school by an LBCC approved high school teacher.
- College Now courses are available to area high school seniors and qualified juniors.
Types of College Now Courses
- Lower Division Transfer (LDT) - courses that provide credit towards a bachelor's degree in areas such as history, literature, math or science.
- Career Technical Education (CTE) - courses within programs of study that provide credit towards one of the associate of applied science programs such as early childhood education, computer applications or automotive technology.
- College Now courses may or may not be eligible for transfer to four-year institutions depending on the school but most colleges do accept LBCC transfer credit. Transfer acceptability is at the discretion of the receiving institution.
