Earning College Credit While Still in High School

What is College Now?

College Now provides high school students with the opportunity to complete both a high school course and a college course simultaneously and receive credit from both your high school and LBCC.
Courses are taught at the student's high school by an LBCC approved high school teacher.
College Now courses are available to area high school seniors and qualified juniors.

Types of College Now Courses

Lower Division Transfer (LDT) - courses that provide credit towards a bachelor's degree in areas such as history, literature, math or science.
Career Technical Education (CTE) - courses within programs of study that provide credit towards one of the associate of applied science programs such as early childhood education, computer applications or automotive technology.
College Now courses may or may not be eligible for transfer to four-year institutions depending on the school but most colleges do accept LBCC transfer credit. Transfer acceptability is at the discretion of the receiving institution.
