Education/Child and Family Studies

Earn college credit in Education, Child and Family Studies, or Human Services while you are still in high school!

There are several classes that can be taken at the high school level and provide transfer college credit through Linn-Benton Community College.

These classes can count as program credit if you are planning to be an Education, Child and Family Studies, or Human Services Major.  They can also transfer as college elective credit if you decide to pursue another major.

The following Education/Child and Family Studies classes are currently able to be taken at the high school level for college credit:

  • ED 101A: Observation and Guidance;  an introductory practicum experience in a preschool classroom.
  • ED 101: Observation and Guidance; an introductory practicum experience in a preschool classroom.
  • ED 7.730: Early Childhood Ages and Stages; a CTE class that focuses on learning about children aged birth to age eight years.
  • HDFS 225: Child Development; study child development (ages birth to eight years) and its associated theories.
  • HDFS 248: Learning Experiences for Children; learn about developing curriculum for preschool-aged children.
