Confidentiality
If you asked for confidentiality on your records, your name will not appear in the Commencement program or newspaper. To remove the confidentiality flag from your records, you must come in person with photo ID to Registration in Takena Hall on the LBCC Albany campus. The commencement ceremony is broadcast on TV and recorded for DVD archiving and sales. If you participate in the ceremony, you will be filmed just like every other student.

Graduating LBCC employees
The LBCC President would like to recognize all graduating LBCC employees. If you are graduating or receiving a certificate, please contact Tammi Drury at Tammi.Drury@linnbenton.edu so that your achievement can be recognized.

Advice for candidates

  • Caps and gowns are mandatory. Caps, gowns and announcements can be ordered online from Royal-T (www.royaltpapers.com). Student fees support half of the cap and gown fee.
  • Do not bring anything that you do not wish to carry throughout the entire ceremony (for example, coats and purses). There is no place to store these items.
  • Wear comfortable shoes. You will be standing for a while before the ceremony.
  • Bobby pins to help hold the cap in place will be available, but please bring your own if you have them.
  • You will be lined up in groups: GED, AHSD, Certificates, AAS, AAOT, and AS. Within those groups you may sit with whomever you choose.
  • Diploma covers are handed out during the ceremony. If you have already received your diploma, please return the cover to us after the ceremony. Spring term diplomas will be mailed to you, probably in late September. (It takes a while to process all your grades and evaluations.) When you receive your diploma, remove the card from inside the diploma cover and replace it with your diploma at home.
  • Graduates needing disability accommodations should notify Linn-Benton Community College Office of Disability Services at (541) 917-4789 or ODS@linnbenton.edu as soon as possible. Parking for those with disabilities will be provided behind Willamette Event Center. Please see the map at this website.
