Effective immediately for the 2012 application period
LBCC has changed the graduation requirements for the Associate of Applied Science degree. Prospective students must fulfill the new requirements for Cultural Literacy and Science and Society prior to applying for the Diagnostic Imaging 2012 Application year.
- One of the LBCC courses listed in the attached document must be taken, or
- An AAOT Cultural Literacy course taken at a partner community college
- One of the courses listed in the attached document must be taken
- (BI 212, GS 104, GS 105 or GS 106 are recommended)

We recommend that program applicants obtain a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certificate prior to applying for the Diagnostic Imaging program. Completion of the CNA program is not required for admission into the Diagnostic Imaging program, but it will gain an applicant competitive status in our admissions point system. Admissions Packets
- Required forms can be downloaded from the Admissions Forms page, under "Special Admission Bulletins" then either "Diagnostic Imaging" or "Diagnostic Imaging Distance Education." Forms for Placement Test Waiver, Transfer Credit Evaluation, and Degree Waiver Petitions may also be found there.
- The LBCC traditional Diagnostic Imaging program has a competitive selections process. Selections for the Distance Education cohort are made by the partner community colleges in accordance with that school's selection process and in conjunction with the respective clinical site(s).
- Admission is based on a point system. For more information on how points are determined, see page 9 of this year's Bulletin (pdf).
- Completion of the online Information Session is required for all applicants. This session will take at least half an hour to complete.
Program Requirements
- The number of students selected is dependent on clinical availability
- Students are required to earn a "C" grade or above for program progression
- Students are required to wear designated uniforms when in attendance at the hospital during the clinical education portion
- Students will be responsible for transportation to and from college/clinic
- Students will be involved 40 hours per week with academic/clinical responsibilities; study time will be in addition to the 40 hours
- Students may be assigned day, night and/or weekend shifts in the clinical portion of the program
- Due to the demanding academic curriculum, it is recommended students limit/eliminate the amount of time they work outside the program
- Students need to pass a criminal background check - if a student has any previous felony convictions, s/he must provide documentation that they have completed and obtained clearance for a "Pre-Application Review of Eligibility for Certification"
- CPR (Healthcare Provider) certification
- Students need to be able to pass a drug screening test
