The Biology Department provides courses that help people to gain knowledge and develop skills that relate to life processes, the diversity of life, and the roles and responsibilities of humans in the natural environment. Some courses are designed to fulfill requirements in certificate programs such as Nursing or Medical Technology. Other courses are designed for biology majors who will transfer to four-year institutions and pursue degrees in medicine, forestry, fisheries and wildlife, genetics, etc. The Department offers many courses for students who need biology courses in order to meet their perspectives or science requirements. A few courses, such as Nature Photography and Crater Lake Ecology, are offered for those with vocational interests in biology.
