Learning and Career Center
The Learning and Career Center, located in BC-222, provides a wealth of services to support student learning and provides students with academic support and a comfortable place to study.

Counseling and Advising
Counselors are available daily, with limited evening hours to provide academic advising, career and crisis counseling, and international student advising. Personal assessment inventories (i.e. Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and Strong Interest Inventory) are available, as well as placement test interpretation and referrals to other resources. Call for an appointment or for drop-in hours.
Career Planning
A Career and Employment Specialist is available for assistance with career exploration, job search, online resources, resume writing, interviewing, student employment and general financial aid and college information. Call for an appointment or for drop-in hours.
Testing
The LCC includes a quiet testing area where a variety of testing services are available. These include: the CPT (Computerized Placement Test), math modules, and proctored tests, both for LBCC and other schools' courses. Call for a testing appointment and for important information on what to bring with you to your test.
Computer Availability
Computers are available to registered students for research and student projects. LCC staff is available to help with any questions. Loaded with the Windows XP operating system, the computers offer a wide variety of software programs including:
- Microsoft Office 2007 (Word, Access, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Corel Office 10 (Wordperfect10)
- Internet Research; Student Email and Registration (SIS)
- Access to LBCC Online Library Resources
- Career Information System
- SQL Food Processor Program; Nutrition
(NOTE: In addition to the LCC computers, LBCC students may also use the computers in the Business Technology Lab on a seat-available basis.)
Study Area
The LCC offers a comfortable place to study or work on assignments. You'll find :
- great lighting,
- tables for group study,
- individual study carrels,
- access to computers, printers, scanner AV equipment
- reference materials for career exploration and effective writing or studying.
- Photocopier: Cost is five cents a copy. Black and white only.
Photo IDs
Pictures are taken in the LCC for your LBCC Student ID card. Pay $10 at the registration desk. Bring Photo ID & registration receipt to the LCC.
