Majors and Programs | Instructors

The following literature classes offer you an opportunity to specialize in a particular genre within one term. Note: These classes are not offered every year.
  • ENG110 Introduction to Film Studies. Introduces methods, criticism and theory of film, based on reading about and viewing films.
  • ENG121 Mystery Fiction. Explores how mystery fiction developed from before Poe to the present.
  • ENG211 Literature in Athletics. Studies the literature of sports and its reflection of our culture.
  • ENG221 Introduction to Children's Literature. Surveys selected children's literature, including soies, legnds, poems and rhymes.
  • ENG260 Introduction to Women Writers. Introduces major works of literature by women authors, exploring women's literary history through poetry, short stories, essays, plays, novels and letters.
  • ENG261 Introduction to Science Fiction. Explores science fiction, fantasy and speculative futures through popular fiction.
  • ENG275 Bible as Literature. Surveys selected Biblical readings as literary works.
