LBCC is fully accredited by the Northwest Commissions on Colleges and Universities nwccu.org and is the fifth largest community college in the state of Oregon. LBCC offers the first two years of a normal four-year bachelor’s degree program. Students who attend LBCC can prepare themselves to transfer to a four-year institution by completing the lower division courses at LBCC instead of at a university. (Note: It may take longer than two years if developmental or pre-requisite courses are required.)
The Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer (AAOT) degree, which is offered without a designated major, will satisfy the lower-division general education requirements of any institution in the Oregon University system (but not necessarily school, department or major requirements with regard to courses or GPA). You may work with your advisor to concentrate your studies in an area of interest.
The Associate of Science (AS) degree is designed to transfer to Oregon State University (OSU). Students who select one of these programs of study and complete the lower division requirements (general education) of their major will meet the general education requirements of their major. Our most popular programs are engineering, business, computer science and education.
LBCC also offers the Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree. This two-year non-transfer program is intended primarily to lead students directly to employment in a specific career. This degree is awarded to students who complete the requirements of a specified two-year career and technical program. Some of the AAS programs are limited to domestic students.
