English Language Proficiency Requirement

 Provide ONE of the following:    

  • TOEFL
    500 paper-based or 61 internet-based TOEFL
  • IELTS
    5.5 IELTS
  • Oregon State University TOEFL
    500 paper-based test (if from INTO OSU)
  • English Language & Culture Institute (ELCI)
    500 ELCI TOEFL
  • US High School Diploma/GED
    Official Transcript/Document
  • US College Official Transcript
    Minimum 24 quarter or 16 semester credits with “C” or above. Credits should include classes in Writing, Reading and Math.

 AND take the LBCC Reading Placement Test (minimum score of 55).

The reading test is required. Students must score at a minimum level of 55 to start in a degree program. Students who do not meet the minimum reading placement, will be referred to the English Language & Cultural Institute, (ELCI), on our campus.

You may submit unofficial transcripts from a US accredited college or university to waive the reading test. Official transcripts must be provided within the first term of attendance.

LBCC placement tests are available for students outside the United States.  Go to Proctor Form for Testing .

 

Application Checklist for Admissions:              

  • International Application for Admissions
  • $100 Application Fee (non-refundable)
  • Official Documentation of English Language Proficiency (See above options)
  • Reading Placement Test (minimum score 55)
  • Current Bank Statement (< 90 days old) or Financial Guarantee of Sponsor
  • Affidavit of Financial Support if bank statement is not in student’s name
  • If under 18 years old on first day of class, Official High School Transcript
  • Passport (photo page)

 Transfer Students Only:

  • VISA (photo page)
  • Current I-94 Stamp 
  • Current I-20

Original documents must be provided upon arrival.
