LBCC does not have summer term admissions.

The Application Checklist for Admissions includes the following:

  • Online International Application for Admissions (Select the International Application)
  • $100 non-refundable one-time application fee
  • Official Documentation of English language proficiency (See below for details.)
  • LBCC Accuplacer Reading Placement Test (minimum score 55)
  • Current Bank Statement (less than 90 days old) showing proof of $23,617 funding
  • Affidavit of Financial Support if bank statement is not in applicant's name
  • If under 18 years old on the first day of class, an official high school transcript
  • Passport (copy of photo page)

Transfer Students:

  • All documents listed above as well as the following:
  • Visa (copy of photo page)
  • Current I-94 Receipt
  • Current I-20 (copy)

Once completed, please submit all documents to the International Programs Office.

Please note: Once a student is admitted to LBCC, the student must complete math and writing placement tests PRIOR to receiving an I-20 from LBCC.

English Proficiency Requirements:

  • TOEFL: 500 on paper-based or 61 on the internet-based TOEFL*
  • IELTS: 5.5 or above
  • US High School Diploma/GED: Submit official transcript or document
  • US College Official Transcript: Must have a minimum of 24 quarter credits or 16 semester credits with "C" or above. Credits should include classes in reading, writing, and math. English language learner courses will not be counted towards this requirement.

 * You may take the paper-based TOEFL Test at the English Language & Cultural Institute on LBCC's campus. Email elci.albany@gmail.com to schedule the test.
